DJ Mondo’s Atomic Luau: Midnight Snax Trax – Techno-Fiddle Fusion

Friend of the Atomic Luau, Chris Marshall, progenitor of Neo-Swedenborgianism and host of Out of the Blue, dropped by the studio with his fiddle for some live stream improvisation (originally on Facebook, but reposted here with the technical glitches minimized).

Chris’ contribution is pure fiddle, while I needed assistance from the Novation Circuit, iPad and the apps Link-to-MIDI, AudioBus 3, and Turnado.

It’s the middle of the night and I feel like seafood and beats.

Here’s some sequences from the divine Novation Circuit filtered through the Turnado app via AudioBus 3 on the iPad pro. The Link-to-MIDI app keeps it in time.

I threw in some improv from the GeoShred app because it sounds kind of like whale songs.

Makes you wonder what else is below the surface.

DJ Mondo’s Atomic Luau: Search for Terrestrial Intelligence

Scientists and researchers have put a lot of effort and resources into finding advanced, technically adept alien life from space.

Better keep searching for brainy life around here, because seems like it’s getting scarce.

Laid down some improvised loops with Ampify’s Blocs Wave and the Novation Circuit. The combo is helped by effects from the Turnado app (Sugar Bytes), kept in time by Ableton Link and the Link-to-MIDI app, with the sound routed through AudioBus 3.

I had a few glitches I blame on a sketchy audio cable and the iPad’s love/hate relationship with a powered USB mini hub, but not bad for a guy that’s running on 3 hours of sleep.
