DJ Mondo stunned that ‘wealth seminars’ are still a thing.

So this happened today. A bunch of millionaire celebrities are going to be at a local convention center today to give out their secrets to wealth (well…not give out).

I’ll repeat that with proper context.

So this happened today. In an age where…

…50% of Americas live below the poverty line

…Government protection of the environment is going extinct in the name of de-regulation of corporations

…social programs that protect the most vulnerable among us are being eliminated

…privatization of traditionally government-managed, tax-supported institutions like public schools are transforming them to a for-profit model

…human essentials like health care, housing and basic income, guaranteed by every other modern government in the world, are becoming scarce

…you can get lead-poisoned at your kitchen sink

…A bunch of millionaire celebrities are going to be at a local convention center today to give out their ‘secrets to wealth’…for 50 bucks (marked down from $150. I guess these celebs are having trouble moving product).
I guess one can be grateful for someone, anyone to at least attemp to step in where municipal, state and federal government has failed its tax-paying citizenry, even if all they offer is the diversion of a ‘wealth seminar’. And the surreality of seeing a sign like this on a train while you’re riding to an economically depressed part of the city you live in is actually fairly entertaining.

So thanks, celebrities. I almost feel like I owe you 50 bucks. …Almost.

DJ Mondo’s Atomic Luau: Count Me Out

DJ Mondo’s Atomic Luau: Count Me Out

The entertainment world lost Bill Paxton earlier this year.

He was an actor with a broad range who created many memorable characters. For science-fi fans, one of his stand-out roles was as Private Hudson of the Colonial Marines in the film Aliens (1986).

The character Hudson was an oasis of quirky humor in an action-packed thrill-ride of space terror. Bill Paxton’s performance is a stand out feature of that film.

We’ll miss you, Bill.

DJ Mondo’s Atomic Luau: Funky Skunk

DJ Mondo’s Atomic Luau: Funky Skunk

In the studio and even the skunks are grooving on the beats at the Atomic Luau.

Using Native Instruments iMaschine, Arturia iSem and recoding into Intua Beatmaker 2, one of the greatest DAWs on iOS.

The only part that stinks is I left the tempo clicker on while recording. 😛
